Senior Representative – Business Solutions, HR Information Systems Jan 2009 – to date
Newmont Mining Corporation, Africa Operations – Accra Office, Ghana
I ensured that Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system data was clean, accurate and ready for all business needs. Evaluated, interpreted and analyzed data, configured options, and/or business processes; Developed and monitored new, routine, and ad hoc reports using standard database tools; Led, coordinated, collected, analyzed and documented business requirements for cross functional projects to achieve timely and accurate deliverables.
Key Results:
- Achieved an unprecedented 100% clean data status for the Africa Region Operations 5 months after taking up role by implementing appropriate HR data standards; received special recognition from the Regional VP, Human Resources.
- Assumed control over several Business Solutions and HR IS projects originally managed by the IT Department and completed them in-house in a 3rd of the time estimated by the IT Department.
- Designed and implemented electronic systems for other sections of the department – Expatriates Management Team; Industrial Relations Management Team – IS systems resulted in increased efficiency, reliability and time-savings.
- Led over 10 people for cross functional projects like: Technical Assessment Phase of the Global Position Alignment (GPA) Project; AICP (Annual Incentive Compensation Plan) Employee Groups ERP Evaluation and others.

Key Results:
- Initiated and oversaw the development of the organization’s websites and established email service for the organization. My initiatives provided the young organization the required credibility to operate and reach out to its targeted audience.
- Recruited technically-oriented volunteers as support staff who helped mitigate financial burdens on the organization.

Key Results:
- Created and implemented a recruitment web portal within 60 days as IT Manager; I provided technical assistance to the web authoring team and at times worked as the web master; Created a robust and user-friendly electronic system which served as a data warehouse for all job application forms which were previously stored as hard copy placed on shelves.
v Trainee and Team Lead – IT Service Relationship Jan. 2007 – July 2009
University of Education, Winneba (U.E.W), Winneba, Ghana
Key Result:
- Initiated, planned and led a week long ICT training workshop for the entire University Library staff. This exercise led to an upsurge in computer literacy status among staff – 60% basic competency level; 30% intermediate competency level and a 10% proficient competency level. The entire exercise was considered as a major addition to the University library’s plan of going automated the following year.

As my first and only venture since leaving school, I currently lead strategic planning by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all web-based services. I also actively involved in all technical developments.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Ghana – www.nsbe.org
- Created and implemented the National Strategic Plan (NSP) and the Chapter Strategic Plan (CSP) templates which saw many of our local chapters align their programs to the National program for the first time.
- Designed the ‘VSAT’ Program – The ‘Volunteers for Science And Technology’ program serves as the anchor of all NSBE Ghana programs. I also personally inspired, created and designed the local website – www.nsbeghana.org
v Vice President, People Development June 2006 – July 2007
AIESEC, UCC Chapter, Ghana - www.aiesec.org
- Led and delivered a presentation at the 2006 AIESEC Ghana National Conference (NatConf 2006) in partial fulfillment of the requirements – to be met by the ‘Drive Team’ of which I was a member – for the induction of AIESEC UCC; AIESEC UCC was inducted the following month.
- Devised and implemented a People Development Action Plan. The ‘PD Plan’ as it was later called, produced: 100 new members; 30 different teams and 50 members stepped up and took leadership roles by the end of the year.
